Gwen Stefani All But Outright Confirms Reports That Gavin Rossdale Cheated

Gwen Stefani may have a hot new single and a hot new man, but that's not enough to mask the pain of betrayal and divorce from husband Gavin Rossdale, to whom she was married for 13 years.

Stefani has all but outright confirmed reports that Rossdale cheated on her with their kids' nanny and continued to allude to it in an interview with radio host Elvis Duran on Thursday.

"I went into the studio ... everybody knows, pretty much, what happened to me," Stefani said of her divorce anthem "I Used to Love You." "I got a divorce, which was completely not in the plan at all. I don't know. For me, it surely wasn't. A shock. A horrible, crazy year and explosion in my life."

And while the 46-year-old singer has done her best to move on -- quickly starting a relationship with Blake Shelton, for one -- she does credit the divorce with ending a period of writer's block.

"At that time, I wanted to go in and write," she explained. "I just wanted to be in my bed crying and do what you do when life falls apart ... Anyways, I went to the studio and I was convinced that I had to make something out of this. 'I'm not going online and wasting my time.'"

The fact that Stefani got a hit song out of the ordeal seems to be a silver lining, which is a sentiment that was also expressed by Shelton after Stefani belted out another emotional performance of the song on "The Voice" earlier this week.

“If you go through whatever she went through to write that song, at least she's getting something good, positive out of it," Shelton told Extra.
