4 tips to successfully install security cameras in your home

When you have a home, the first thing you think (or at least in my case, and my country -Venezuela-) one is security. You have to be aware of details such as the infrastructure of the house, the roof, fencing, electric fencing if you want, a dog, among other things. There are many details to consider, and this post will discuss the security cameras or surveillance.

1. Avoid blind spots: When installing the camera, the first thing to keep in mind is that are priority areas and vulnerable areas, and make efforts to create a balance between these. To ease this work, it is recommended to create physical planes, capable of displaying quickly an estimated area covering cameras, and therefore know how to organize the cameras in the best possible configuration.

2. DVR secured in an isolated place: the DVR is the foundation of the system, which lets you record, manage, and even local and remote access to these. It is for this reason it is important that this is always in a place with cool temperature (tend to heat), limited to users, and access protected from the elements.

3. Connect the DVR to the Internet: to complement surveillance cameras , it is highly recommended that the DVR has Internet access and is configured correctly. This setup usually involves managing remote users with username and password, and open the necessary ports on the router for this redirect the access quickly and satisfactorily.

4. Have a hard drive backup: Like any electronic device, you never know when you might fail, and since in this case the information is important, you need to have on hand is always a backup hard disk ready for installation. And there are even high quality DVRs for working 2 or more disks in array mode (recording on multiple disks at once).
